Kayla – Operations Manager

Kayla’s path to Habitat’s Technician Leadership was set from a very early age. She always knew she would find her passion in veterinary nursing. Kayla was the first from Caldwell High School to attend the Veterinary Technician Associates program from Brown Mackie College to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She joined the Habitat team in 2014. There is nothing more rewarding for Kayla than seeing her patient’s improvement after illness or injury. With over a decade of experience, Kayla is an excellent teacher and uses the love she has for her patients to teach other technicians her practiced skillset. She loves being able to help elevate each individual to reach their highest potential.

Outside of work Kayla enjoys snuggling on the couch with a blanket, her dogs, her family, and a good movie. She loves camping, trail riding, reading, and listening to good tunes with her husband and daughter. She has an overly lazy 15-year-old tabby named “Ilah May,” the husband’s barking little Terrier Mix “Basseterre,” and his sweet 11-year-old Wire Haired Pointing Griffon “Matuzo.” She fondly remembers her beloved chocolate lab “Dudley,” who crossed the rainbow bridge in August of 2021.
