Dr. Tad Squires – DVM

Originally from Iowa, Dr. Squires earned his Bachelor of Science in Entomology from Iowa State University before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He then completed a medicine and surgery internship at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital, where he further developed his clinical and surgical expertise.

Following his internship, Dr. Squires practiced in Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia before making Boise home in 2010. After more than a decade of caring for pets and building trusted relationships with families throughout the Treasure Valley, he joined the Habitat Veterinary Hospital team, where he is excited to continue providing thoughtful, personalized care while helping people and pets thrive together.

Dr. Squires especially enjoys watching puppies and kittens grow into beloved lifelong companions while partnering with their owners through every stage of life. His professional interests include preventive medicine, wellness care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and oral surgery. He also enjoys caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other small companion pets.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Squires enjoys taking advantage of everything Idaho has to offer. Whether he is running or hiking in the foothills, skiing, mountain biking, or fly fishing, he appreciates spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Dr. Squires lives in Boise with his wife, Shannon, and their three children, Jonah, Camden, and Mackenzie. Their family also includes Alice, a terrier mix, and a leopard gecko named Rosebuddy.
