Dr. Linenberger is from Bainbridge Island, Washington and received his Bachelors degree in Zoology from The University of Washington. He received his Veterinary Doctorate degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Linenberger has a special interest in internal medicine, neonatal medicine, oncology and surgery. He also has a unique talent and special skills in avian medicine.
Dr. Maleki grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from UW-Madison with a BA in English Literature and from Boise State University with a BS in Biology. She received her Veterinary Doctorate degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon finishing her clinical training from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, she moved back to Boise where she had lived since 1996. Dr Maleki earned her certification in veterinary acupuncture from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and integrates both eastern chinese and traditional western medicine for complete holistic veterinary care. She has great interest and skill sets in dermatology, dentistry and internal medicine. She also focuses nutrition, management of obesity, behavior counseling and geriatric medicine with consultations on quality of life care.
Dr. Maleki and Dr. Linenberger met during veterinary school, moved to Madison, Wisconsin together and finally relocated to Boise in summer 2004. They worked at separate local hospitals and practiced as associate veterinarians in the Boise community for 3.5 years before deciding to open Habitat together. Both Dr Maleki and Dr Linenberger became veterinarians for their love of companion animals and the challenge that a career in veterinary medicine offers. They wanted to create a unique environment that reflected their love of animals and an appreciation for the bond pets share with their families. Their primary goal was to provide the highest standard of care through services, products and educational tools that promote a healthy and safe lifestyle for pets and their people in the Boise community.
Their daughter Finley Gray was born on July 9, 2007 and Rowan Henry was born on August 17, 2009.
Dr. Steven R. Baker is excited to be joining Habitat Veterinary Health Center as a new partner. His interest in strengthening the human-animal bond through stellar care of animals and the humans who love them is a perfect fit to this growing practice.
Dr. Baker attended the University of Montana, the University of Maine, and Colorado State University where he earned his doctorate in 1995. His practice as a mixed animal relief veterinarian has taken him from doing C-sections in Wyoming snowstorms to sheep milking parlors in northern Spain. He enjoyed a concurrent career as a Smokejumper in Washington, Alaska and Boise, but finally hung up his parachute after 18 years to turn to veterinary medicine full time.
Dr. Baker understands the special connection between pets and their people. His goal as a veterinarian is to use preventative medicine, wellness programs and surgery to make that happy bond last a lifetime.
In his spare time, Dr. Baker can be found kayaking, kitesurfing, mountain biking, or plodding down the trails with his faithful Wilson (the pudelpointer) and Tuva (the mutt) leading the way.
Although he plays mandolin and sings Irish music in a band called "Armed and Hammered," it's likely that he will need to keep his day job as a veterinarian.
The sweet blue-eyed girl in his arms is Caroline, who he and his wife Mary Ann welcomed to the world on MLK day, 2009.
